The Los Angeles Shoot: The House on Chislehurst Drive

The house, the view, the endless possibilities for shooting interviews in beautiful settings with great backdrops. And most of all, the warmth of our hosts who extended themselves and limitlessly accommodated our production needs.
Easter weekend. What a time to conduct our second shoot for our film? Honestly, it totally slipped our minds that the holiday weekend was upon us when Ric and I were orchestrating it all. It was our sound guy, Sean, who happened to clue us in with a "by the way, you are aware that...", sending a shock through our systems.
Fortunately, everyone was onboard, and brought it together for our sacred occasion. This shoot was a little different. The stars aligned and we were able to have Lauren Ezersky, fashionista extraordinaire, join us on the west coast, taking her out of her beloved New York City!
You see, the interview we shot with her, allows our audience to see our narrator and hear her take on some of the topics we’ll cover in the film—and after all, she is our voice (DRAFT Productions) in the film. She'll take us back through the decades and into what was new to American fashion, the realm of Charivari; and share her thoughts and memories.
And to the ex-employees who generously shared their holiday weekend and Charivari memories with us—I'm not sure if they are aware of how important their contribution is to us. By furnishing our cameras with their stories, collectively we are capturing history. The history of this company and the history of an indelible New York.
On point, on budget and on time
Yes, the house on Chislehurst was the place which allowed us to open doors and come home to more intimate details of our story. But we still needed to run a professional shoot. And thanks to our crew, we did.
Moving forward, with every shoot we refine our questions, geared to extracting the most pertinent information out of each and every one of our interview subjects in order to really depict how the company rose to such success. And based on new leads given in the interviews, we'll follow the pieces of the diverse mosaic which was Charivari.
Again our special thanks goes out to Our Crew:
David (DK) Kagen – Cinematographer
Blake Heron – Assistant Camera
Sean Byrnes - Sound
Seth Lawrence Asbell - Hair/Make-up
Harrison Roland - Hair/Make-up 2
And Thanks to our Interview Subjects: For sharing your time and participating—candidly in our film. For all of your anecdotes & all sorts!
Lauren Ezersky, Peter M. Taub, Kim Mello, Kerry Harris, Judi Weinstein-Ruben, William Clark Jr. and Kim Shek.
